A two-time all-league selection and NCAA regional qualifier while representing the University of Indianapolis, Cameron Young has joined the Ball State men's golf program to play his final two seasons. From Salibury, England, he is one of two international players on the Cardinals roster.
"I kind of look at Cameron as 'Mr. Consistent,'" said Ball State coach Mike Fleck. "He doesn't do anything really spectacular that makes you jump and go, 'wow,' but his finishes are always consistently in the top third or top half of the field -- and that's exactly what you want out of a player that competes in that third, fourth or fifth spot in the lineup. That's consistency and Cameron brings that to the team."
FALL 2025 (Jr.): Appeared in five tournaments ... over 15 rounds, his 72.47 stroke average was fifth on the Ball State roster ... shot three rounds in the 60s, with six rounds at par or below ... shot 68-68-72---208 (-2) in his best tournament, in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational where he finished 15th out of 84 overall ... best round was 68, twice in the E.Y. Invite at Delaware Country Club.
BEFORE BALL STATE: Young was the Greyhounds' top player at UIndy in 2024-25 while finishing second in the Great Lakes Valley Championships ... finished fourth a year earlier as a true freshman ... fired a 72.5 stroke average over 37 rounds as a sophomore ... shot 74.1 over 36 rounds as a freshman ... seven top-10 finishes as a sophomore, with six in the top five ... had a head-to-head record of 768-173-25 during his sophomore campaign ... was an NCAA DII regional qualifier as both a freshman and a sophomore. "Cameron is a perfect fit for what we are looking to continue to do as a program," said Fleck. "He has two years of highly competitive collegiate golf under his belt with an impressive head-to-head record over the past year. He was also recognized as one of the top D2 players in the country, earning GCAA PING All-Region honors. He brings a strong work ethic and an experienced, successful, competitive drive to our program."
