2025-26 Men's Golf Roster

Brody Sorrell
- Class:
- Freshman
- Hometown:
- Evansville, Ind.
- High School:
- Evansville North HS
One of three true freshman expected to make an impact on a young Ball State roster in 2025-26 ... high school teammate of Cardinals freshman Luke Johnston.
"We can have three freshmen in our top four spots," said Cardinals coach Mike Fleck. "That's pretty lofty for this group, but Brody's got one of our top averages and he played 14 competitive rounds in the fall. I look at Brody and he's the most athletic kid on the team, probably, and has some skills that not a lot of the guys have. He is continuing to gain experience and get comfortable in the tournament setting. He's fully capable, and he's going to be somebody that consistently pushes for for a top-five spot through the spring season."
FALL 2025 (Fr..): Sorrell golfed 14 rounds for the Cardinals in the fall, and his 72.14 stroke average was No. 4 on the team ... fired sub-70 rounds in each of his first four college tournaments, including a low round of 67 at the Put Me In Coach Invitational, Oct. 6-7, where he finished 12th (76-72-67---215, +5).
HIGH SCHOOL: Sorrell and Johnston were top 20 finishers their last two seasons in the IHSAA state finals while leading the Evansville North Huskies to a state record eight consecutive regional championships ... close friends and teammates, the Huskies duo led Evansville North to the state finals finishes in each of their four high school seasons ... Sorrell finished 15th and Johnston second in the 2025 IHSAA state finals, as Evansville North finished fifth overall ... both were four-time all-conference picks in the Southwest Indiana Athletic Conference ... said Fleck when they signed: "These guys are two of best players in the state and the bonus for us as they continue their careers as teammates." ... Sorrell, was a USGA Junior Amateur qualifier in 2024 and 2025 ... "The first thing that jumps out with Brody is his athleticism," Fleck added. "Brody is a very strong, and a power-producing player with a swing that matches up perfectly with his athletic frame. He is an ultra-competitive young man who wants to win. Along with Luke, these two athletes bring excellent chemistry to the squad and that 'everyday desire' to compete for championships."
