Former IHSAA state champion Aidan Gutierrez begins his first year with the Ball State golf program, following a freshman year at Baylor. With three years of eligibility, he committed to joining the Ball State program following his first college season with the Bears.
"Aidan came here transfer from Baylor and had great success as a junior. He's a hard worker and an awesome young man. I think as he continues to get his footing under him and get more comfortable, we're going to see more and more good stuff from Aidan. When his good is good, it's really good. He's a super talented young man that I expect will push his way up the roster and challenge guys ahead of him."
FALL 2025 (So.): Appeared in five tournaments ... over 14 rounds, Gutierrez fired a 74.36 average, with a fifth-place finish (70-71-69---210, E) at the Put Me In Coach Invitational at Delaware Country Club, with all three rounds at +1 or better ... best round was a 1-under 69 in the final round of the Put Me In Coach Invitational
2024-25 (Fr.): Gutierrez attended Baylor University where he averaged 76.00 over 15 competitive rounds ... fired a low round of 68 and landed his best finish at the Minnesota Golf Classic (71-76-74—221) where he tied for 24th place out of 106 golfers.
HIGH SCHOOL: The 2022 IHSAA state champion while representing Valparaiso High School, Gutierrez earned top-five finishes at the IHSAA state finals three times ... finished tied for second at the IHSAA state championship as a senior in 2024, and carded a solo fifth-place finish in the 2023 IHSAA state finals on the strength of an opening-round 67 ... as a sophomore, he captured the 2022 IHSAA title with a final-round 67 to get into a playoff, which he won with a birdie on the third playoff hole ... tied for 29th at the prestigious Pete and Alice Dye Junior Invitational in 2023.
