2022 (Senior): Named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team … tabbed to the All-MAC Tournament Team … recipient of the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship … played in all 19 games for the Cardinals with 17 starts … for the season tallied two goals, two assists, six points, 42 shots, 16 shots on goal and one defensive save … found the back of the cage for her first goal of the season versus Villanova (9/4/22) … tacked on another score against Big Ten foe Michigan State (10/9/22) … registered a defensive save at home against Big Ten foe Iowa (9/25/22) … chipped in a season best five shots on goal in MAC action versus Longwood (9/15/22) …. collected two points for BSU against Villanova (9/4/22) and Michigan State (10/9/22) … helped the Cardinals to one of their best seasons in over decade with BSU’s first appearance at the MAC Tournament since the 2019 season.
2021 (Junior): Named to the 2021 National Field Hockey College Association (NFHCA) Academic team … tabbed to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference squad … started in all 17 games for the Cardinals … scored the game-winner at Saint Francis (9/5/21) … found the back of the cage in Mid-American Conference action versus Bellarmine (10/15/21) and Longwood (10/22/21) … registered a season high three shots on goal against the Knights (10/15/21) … collected defensive saves against Michigan (9/10/21), Indiana (9/26/21), Appalachian State (10/8/21) and Northwestern (10/10/21) … led the team in goals (3), points (6) and defensive saves (4) … ranked second on the team in shots on goal with 10 and third in total shots with 16.
2020 (Sophomore): Named to the 2020 Zag/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad … started in all 16 games for the Cardinals … scored the game-winning goal in Ball State’s Mid-American Conference opener at Appalachian State (3/12/31) … added another goal versus Bellarmine (4/3/21) … ranked third on the team in shots (16) and shots on goal (9) … finished the season with fourth in points (6) … helped the Cardinals post victories against Appalachian State (3/12/21), Ohio (3/19/21), Longwood University (3/27/21), Bellarmine (4/2/21 & 4/3/21) and Central Michigan (4/18/21).
University of Delaware: Prior to Ball State, McClay spent a year at the University of Delaware where she was named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team. She played in 20 games with 16 starts. She scored one goal, had 12 shots, six shots on goal, while registering four assists as a defender for the Blue Hens.
High School: McClay had a stellar high school career and was a three-year varsity letter-winner at Madison High School. McClay is a versatile player who primarily competes at the midfield and back positions. As a senior, she represented the Dodgers as their team captain and finished her career with 64 goals and 40 assists. McClay received a multitude of accolades throughout her storied career. At the conclusion of her senior season, she was named the 2018 NJ.com NJAC Player of the Year. She was selected to the 2018 NJFHCA Senior All-Star Team and earned MAX Field Hockey First Team All-Region. McClay received Second Team All-State honors in 2018 and 2016 while being tabbed Third Team All-State in 2017. She was a three-time First Team All-North Jersey and All-Conference honoree. McClay was a four-sport athlete at Madison High School, earning letters in track, basketball and lacrosse in addition to field hockey.
Club: Found success in club competition playing for New Heights and was a member of USA Field Hockey futures program. McClay was selected three consecutive years to compete in the National Futures Championship (2017-2019). In 2017, she was selected to compete in the U16 AAU Junior Olympics where her team won the gold medal. In 2018, McClay was selected at the completion of the tournament to play in the U19 Future Stars and Stripes match, a funnel to the US national team.
