2013: Started all 18 games for Ball State as a red-shirt sophomore ... named MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a career-high two goals in the 3-0 win over Vermont (Sept. 28) as well as a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win over UC Davis (Sept. 24) ... led the team in defensive saves with eight ... tied for second on the team in goals scored with four ... tallied a career-high two defensive saves vs. Ohio (Oct. 26) and vs. Northwestern (Sept. 10) ... had 11 shots on the season, seven of which were on goal for a .545 shot on goal percentage.

2012: Saw action in all 18 games for the Cardinals ... led the team in defensive saves with four ... netted two goals and two assists for 12 points ... scored her first collegiate goal in the 8-2 win over Lindenwood (Sep. 16) ... notched her first collegiate defensive save vs. Davidson (Sep. 2).

2011: Received a medical redshirt from the NCAA ... appeared in three games, starting twice ... notched her first collegiate shot in her first collegiate game vs. Colgate (Aug. 26) ... had two shots on goal (1.000 shot on goal percentage).

HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Kelly Turner and Katie Staples at Floyd E. Kellam High School … four-year letterwinner as a forward/defender … during her senior season, she recorded two goals, six assists and six defensive saves as a defender, to earn First Team All-Beach District, first team all-region and Second Team All-Tidewater honors … as a forward during her junior year, Velez led the team in goals (6) and assists (5), to earn Second Team All-Beach District accolades … collected a team-leading five goals and four assists during her sophomore season … played for the Beach Premier club team for four years, where the squad earned the Festival Championship title during the 2009-10 seasons.
