Men's Diving Prepared for Zone Diving Championships in Ypsilanti

MUNCIE, Ind. – After a successful week of competition at conference, The Ball State men's diving program continues its postseason with a trip to Ypsilanti, Michigan for the 2026 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships. The meet, hosted by Eastern Michigan, begins March 9 with 1-meter diving and ends March 11 with platform. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. each day.
The Cardinals that will be present at the Michael H. Jones Natatorium include senior Porter Brovont, junior Zach Shaddy and freshman Ryan Farmer. The three will compete on 1M, followed by 3-meter diving on March 10.
Brovont initially hit his qualifying mark on 3M (322.35) at UIC (Oct. 24) and later topped it in a non-scored dual meet versus Bellarmine and UIndy (Nov. 8) with a score of 323.48. The senior reached a qualifying score on 1M during day one at House of Champions (Nov. 20), scoring 312.70. He later beat that mark at the Miami (OH) Invite (Feb. 7), earning a career high score of 321.90 to win the event. During the Missouri Valley Conference Championships (Feb. 25-28), Brovont placed second in the consolation final on 1M (303.10) and scored 251.50 during prelims on 3M.
Shaddy qualified on both boards versus the Knights and Greyhounds, earning 305.40 on1M and 322.58 on 3M. He then raised those marks to 339.70 on 1M at House of Champions and 358.05 on 3M vs. IU Indy. At the MVC Championships, Shaddy set the program and conference record on 1M (360.15) to earn gold. He followed that performance two days later with a silver-winning score of 365.75 on 3M, earning another program record.
Farmer hit his qualifying mark on 3M at House of Champions, scoring 336.40 to place fourth. At conference, Farmer was named the MVC Freshman Diver of the Year after securing a bronze finish on 3M (358.45) as well as a score of 268.50 in the consolation final on 1M.
