Diving Squads Make Final Stop Before Conference at Miami (OH) Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State men's and women's diving squads head to Oxford, Ohio on Feb. 7 for action on day two of the 2026 Miami Invitational (diving only). Both teams will have one final tune-up at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center before entering preparation for the Mid-American and Missouri Valley Conference Championships (Feb 25-28). 1-meter diving begins at 10 a.m. and 3-meter begins at 4 p.m.
The men's side was last in action Jan. 23 vs. IU Indy. Zach Shaddy led the Cardinals, placing second on both the 1M (332.48) and 3M (358.05) boards. Ryan Farmer followed on the 3M, placing third (324.68). Mitchell Mauck earned a season-high score of 271.73 on the 1M, while Emilio Perez earned his season best on the 3M (250.88).
Shaddy, Farmer and Porter Brovont have each earned NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks this season. Brovont initially hit his mark on the 3M (322.35) at UIC (Oct. 24) and later topped it in a non-scored dual meet versus Bellarmine and UIndy (Nov. 8) with a score of 323.48. The senior reached a qualifying score on 1M during day one at House of Champions (Nov. 20), scoring 312.70. Shaddy qualified on both boards versus the Knights and Greyhounds, earning 305.40 on1M and 322.58 on 3M. He then raised those marks to 339.70 on 1M at House of Champions and 358.05 on 3M vs. IU Indy. Farmer also hit a qualifying mark at House of Champions, scoring 336.40 on 3M (Jan. 21).
The women last competed in Ball State's home finale vs. Indiana State (Jan. 30). Eeva-Liisa Gibson earned a season-best score on the 1M (231.68), placing second. She also finished fifth on the 3M with a score of 214.58.
Graduate student Grace Walker earned a NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark on the 1M (269.70) at the Don Ross Indiana Intercollegiate (Oct. 11) and on the 3M (298.65) vs. Ohio (Nov. 7). She then beat both those scores the very next day vs. UIndy (Nov. 8) scoring 286.20 on 1M and 305.03 on 3M.
