CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Tessa Towers of the Ball State women's basketball team has earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career as a Cardinal. The announcement was made by the league office today.
Towers delivered a dominant week for Ball State, capped by a career-defining performance on national television. In a critical road swing, Towers anchored a Cardinals team that improved to 17-5 overall and 9-1 in Mid-American Conference play. The highlight of the week came on February 1 at Kent State. In a 101-91 victory broadcast on CBS Sports Network, Towers exploded for a career-best 29 points and 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. She was particularly lethal in the third quarter, scoring 12 points to help the Cardinals create separation.
