Men's S&D Continues Strong Showing on Day Three of MVC Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Ball State men's swimming and diving program captured three more medals inside of the Evansville Deaconess Aquatic Center during day three of the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
To follow up his gold-winning performance on the 1-meter board on day one, Zach Shaddy claimed silver on the 3-meter board while setting a program record with a score of 365.70. Ryan Farmer followed with a bronze finish, scoring 358.45 to claim the second-highest mark in program history.
Sophomore Aidan Biddle gave the Cardinals its first medal of the night, clocking in at 53.15 in the 100 breaststroke to take silver. Biddle bested his own second-best program time in the event (53.84) which he set at the MVC Championships last year (Feb. 21).
Junior William Raches set a program record in the 100 backstroke during prelims (47.88) to qualify for the championship final. Later that evening, Raches finished fifth with a time of 48.23).
In the 200 fly, AJ Friend turned in a ninth-place finish (1:47.10), followed by Henry Ko in 13th (1:48.93) and Luke Pryor in 15th (1:49.29). Also contributing points to the Cardinals was Ike Ruszkowski who finished 16th in the 100 back (50.09).
After three days at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium, Ball State sits at fourth with 670.5 points. The men trail behind Southern Illinois (890.5), Miami (OH) (1067.5) and Missouri State (1086).
The final day of the MVC Championships starts with prelims at 11:30 a.m. followed by finals at 6:30 p.m.
