MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's tennis team continues its road swing this Saturday, February 14, with a neutral-site showdown against the University of Dayton in Cincinnati, Ohio. The match is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. ET first serve at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
The Cardinals (2-2) are looking to bounce back following a competitive road test against Michigan State. In their most recent outing, Gabriella Barrera secured a point for Ball State with a straight-sets victory at No. 5 singles. The team aims to regain the momentum they established earlier this season with a 6-1 victory over Navy and Butler.
So far this season, the Cardinals have established doubles play as a cornerstone of its 2025-26 campaign, frequently using it to secure an early 1-0 lead before singles competition begins posting doubles victories over Navy, Butler and Michigan State.
Ball State holds a historical advantage in this matchup, having won the last meeting between the two programs on February 15, 2025 with a 4-3 victory in Muncie. Overall, the Cardinals have won 12 of the 16 all-time meetings against the Flyers. Currently, Dayton owns a 1-6 record heading into the weekend and will face Duquesne (Feb. 13) before playing the Cardinals on Saturday.
After Saturday, the Ball State women's tennis team is set to play a mid-week match at Cincinnati on Feb. 18 at the Western Athletic Club. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
