February 12, 2026 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. — The Ball State men's tennis team (4-3) travels to Indianapolis this Friday, February 13, 2026, for a 1 p.m. matchup against IU Indy (2-6) at the West Indy Racquet Club.
"The Cardinals have prepared well with the short week of practice to play a very good IU-Indy team who play especially well at home," Ball State head men's tennis coach Gene Orlando said. "We are excited for the challenge and know we will get their very best and we will have to play our best to complete our mission."
The Cardinals enter Friday's contest with momentum after rallying for a 4-3 road win against in-state rival Butler on Sunday. After dropping the doubles point, Ball State secured the victory through gritty singles performances, punctuated by a match-clinching three-set win from freshman Jeremy Milette.
Senior Jacks Lancaster has been a pillar for the Cardinals at the No. 1 singles position, recently defeating Butler's Nicolas Arts in straight sets. The Cardinals' lineup features several newcomers who have made immediate contributions, including Andrei Caragea, Zack Kimelman, and Milette, all of whom secured critical singles points in recent wins.
Ball State men's tennis has maintained a dominant 22-1 all-time record against IU Indy (formerly IUPUI) since the 2003 season. The Cardinals' lone loss in the series occurred in that on February 8, 2003, followed by a 22-match winning streak.
The Jaguars recently earned a 7-0 sweep of Marquette on Feb. 7. They are led by a core group including Kamil Kozerski and Steven Paz.
After Friday's match, the Ball State men's tennis team will resume play at Big Ten foe Michigan next Saturday, Feb. 21 for an 11 am ET first serve in Ann Arbor
