Women's S&D Concludes Regular Season Versus Indiana State Friday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program closes its regular season Friday, Jan. 30 as it hosts Indiana State inside the Lewellen Aquatic Center. Events versus the Sycamores are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. After the weekend, the women set their sights on the MAC Championships Feb. 25-28.
The Cardinals had a successful weekend against IU Indy and Eastern Michigan, topping the Jaguars 199-95 (Jan. 23) and the Eagles 166.6-133.5 (Jan. 24). In total, the women claimed 24 event wins to advance to 5-1. Payton Kelly and Anna Keen paced the Cardinals with four individual wins each along with contributions to three winning relay teams. Alexa Von Holtz and Ava Butterfield totaled three event wins of their own during the weekend.
Kelly's weekend performance was awarded with her second MAC Swimmer of the Week honor of the season and the seventh of her career.
Last year at Indiana State (Feb. 7), the women's squad saw three event wins but faced a 216-84 loss to the Sycamores. The three wins were captured by Kelly in the 200 freestyle (1:48.97), Keen in the 100 butterfly (54.47) and Callie Tuma in the 400 IM (4:32.66).
ISU heads into Friday's dual meet with a 7-1 record for the 2025-26 season and are riding a winning streak of four. Most recently, Indiana State topped Southern Illinois 156-140 and Evansville 253-42 (Jan. 10). Since 2006, these teams have met a total of seven times, with the Sycamores leading 4-3. In contests held inside Lewellen, the all-time series is currently tied 1-1.
