Women's S&D Hosts IU Indy for Senior Day

MUNCIE, Ind – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program is back in action Jan. 23 inside the Lewllen Aquatic Center, alongside the men's team, as they host IU Indy for Senior Day. Events are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET.
Prior to the meet, the women's seniors set to be recognized are Hannah Justice, Payton Kelly, Alyssa Messenger, Haley Sakbun, Kiran Stauffer and Callie Tuma.
The Cardinals are coming off a 197-102 victory against conference foe Buffalo (Jan. 17), advancing the women to a 3-1 record for the 2025-26 season. Ball State picked up 13 wins in 16 events, led by Payton Kelly and Anna Keen who claimed two individual event wins each. The pair also helped the Cardinals sweep the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
After earning her eighth win of the season with a victory on the 1-Meter board (273.38) versus the Bulls, Grace Walker was honored with her second Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week honor this season.
Ball State and IU Indy crossed paths last season (Nov. 8), with the Cardinals getting the better of the Jaguars, winning 11 events on its way to a 189-108 win at the IU Natatorium. Messenger paced the women with wins in the 100 and 200 backstroke and was a valuable addition to a victory in the 200 medley relay. Alexa Von Holtz also scored a pair of wins in the 200 butterfly and 200 IM, while Leelah Fettig swept the diving boards.
The Jaguars come into Friday's contest 14-2 this season, most recently besting Youngtown State 187-92 on Jan. 9 and 185-92 on Jan. 10. Since 2000, Ball State sees a 14-2 advantage in the all-time series against IU Indy, including a 2-0 advantage at home.
