Men’s Tennis Hosts Xavier Saturday in Home Opener

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (0-1) is set to host Xavier (0-0) Saturday afternoon at the First Serve facility located on 3500 N Chadam Lane.
"We had a great week of practice this week and we are excited to ply our first home match against a very good Xavier squad, Ball State head men's tennis coach Gene Orlando said. "We will have to play our best to earn the victory."
The Cardinals are looking to rebound after falling to the Hoosiers last Saturday by a 7-0 decision while this marks the first match of the spring for the Musketeers.
Ball State and Xavier have met on many of occasions, often playing tight matches. Xavier won the most recent meeting in a 4-3 victory on February 15, 2025, in Cincinnati over Ball State. Xavier holds a 12-4 overall record against Ball State in regular-season matchups dating back to 2005.
After this weekend, Ball State remains home for a double-header match on Jan. 24 against Bellarmine (12 pm ET) and IU East (4 pm ET).
