MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State Athletics is excited to announce an expansion to its official athletics podcast: This Week in Ball State Sports presented by Gainbridge. As part of an effort to continue building community partnerships and grow the athletics podcasting space, the show airs live, Thursday mornings from 9 to 9:30 a.m., on WMUN Muncie (92.5 FM/1340 AM).
Each weekly episode will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon, iHeartMedia, Google and BallStateSports.com/podcasts, immediately after it airs live on WMUN locally. Searching This Week in Ball State Sports gives access to each episode.
The weekly partnership with Woof Boom Radio is part of the new agreement reached last week between Woof Boom Radio and Ball State Athletics. The first show is available on Thursday, Aug. 28, featuring head football coach Mike Uremovich, football radio analyst Chris Radican, and Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell.
This Week in Ball State Sports presented by Gainbridge is a weekly podcast dedicated to showcasing Ball State sports – its teams, its people and its personalities. Each week, Voice of the Cardinals Mick Tidrow chats with Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell, other administrators, staff members, coaches, alumni and student-athletes for their insight into the events surrounding Ball State Athletics.
"We invite our alumni, friends, and fans to connect with our athletics programs through this weekly medium," said Mitchell. "This Week in Ball State Sports provides a window into how our operation works and offers our talented student-athletes, coaches and staff the opportunity to share their passion for Ball State – and further promote the strength of the Ball State brand. Adding the live broadcast component to this year's podcast is a win-win for the Cardinals and local listeners!"
"A weekly radio show/podcast is a unique way of telling the stories of our incredible people within Ball State Athletics," says Tidrow, a two-time Ball State graduate who begins his fourth year as Voice of the Cardinals. "We want to tell our Ball State sports stories in an accessible and engaging way. We also want our fans to engage with the show."
Featured on the weekly show is a "Monday Mailbag" feature in which Tidrow engages questions from fans. Fans can email ballstatesportspodcast@gmail.com to join the conversation.
