Open Practice for Spring Showcase Gives Fans a Glimpse of 2025 Football Cardinals

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Through 22 five-minute practice periods, Ball State football fans got a first glimpse of the Mike Uremovich-led Ball State football Cardinals.
Nearly a thousand onlookers basked in clear, sunny, cloudless skies at Scheumann Stadium, Saturday afternoon, shaking off cold temperatures and welcoming the sights and sounds of football again, in anticipation of a new season -- with a new staff, new optimism and a roster brimming with 25 talented newcomers.
Special teams units were featured early in the practice schedule, giving way to offensive and defensive units doing drill work for an opening hour prior to 7-on-7 and controlled contact and scrimmage situations over eight periods to conclude the workout. A festive atmosphere was enjoyed by families and alumni players who mingled and relished the opportunity to engage in live action again.
After Saturday's Spring Showcase, the Cardinals report for fall camp on July 29 and open the 2025 season at Purdue on Aug. 30. Students and families will be welcomed back to Scheumann Stadium again for Family Weekend to kick off the home schedule against New Hampshire on Sept. 13
