
Gymnastics Earns Another MAC Weekly Awards Sweep

CLEVELAND - - For the second time in three weeks, the Ball State gymnastics program has swept the Mid-American Conference weekly awards with sophomore Delaney McMahon earning Specialist of the Week and junior Zoe Middleton claiming Gymnast of the Week.

McMahon earns her first career MAC Specialist of the Week honor after battling back from the flu to be a last-minute addition to the competitive beam lineup Sunday versus Northern Illinois. She would go on to make her mark in the Ball State record book by tying the program record on beam with a score of 9.925.

The mark ties as the highest score in the league on beam this season, helped Ball State tie the program's team beam record at 49.350 and aided in the Cardinals best meet score of the season which was a 196.900 which ties as the third-best team score in program history.

Middleton, who earns MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the third time this season and sixth time in her career, turned in the league's best all-around performance of the season Sunday, scoring a 39.500 in Ball State's victory over NIU. The effort, which was the fourth-best all-around mark in program history, started with Ball State's best vault score of the season at 9.900.

Middleton followed with a 9.800 on bars, before earning two more scores of 9.900 on beam and floor. Her beam score was her best of the season, while the floor mark was her fourth 9.900 of the campaign. Overall, her effort paved the way for the Cardinals tying the third-best team score in program history with its 196.900.

The Ball State gymnastics team returns to action Sunday when it travels to Kent State for a 1p.m. league dual.
