Men’s Tennis Earns 7-0 Sweep over Eastern Illinois

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (3-2) extended its win streak to three after earning a 7-0 sweep over Eastern Illinois (2-8) Friday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.
Ball State took an early lead in doubles with wins on courts three and one, respectively. The duo of Nathaniel Webster and Sajin Smith breezed past EIU's No. 3 twosome of Pike Bouman and Michael Scout, 6-2. With two courts left, the top court doubles tandem of Mason Tran and Jacks Lancaster sealed the doubles point with their 6-3 defeat over Alex Alviz and Zachary White.
In singles, Andrew Hayward extended Ball State's lead 2-0 with a straight set win against Duarte Trocado, 6-1, 6-0 on court No. 4. Webster followed suit shortly after beating Bouman by the same score on the top court while Lancaster clinched the match at two singles after posting a 6-2, 6-1 victory versus White.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues home action Saturday against Butler. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
