
Women’s Tennis Welcomes Dayton Saturday; Looks to Extend Match Win Streak to Three

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (2-1) continues spring action at home when it hosts Dayton (5-3) Saturday for a 1 pm ET first serve at the Northwest YMCA.
The Cardinals are looking to rebound from their loss to the Flyers last season on March 1, 2024, when Ball State fell at Dayton by 6-1 decision. Prior to that contest, the Cardinals had won three in a row versus the Flyers. Ball State holds a 10-4 edge over Dayton dating back to the 2004-05 season.
Ball State is coming off two wins last week against Eastern Illinois (6-1) and Oakland University (5-2). The Cardinals' duo of Sarah Shahbaz and Isabel Tanjuatco went 2-0 on the top court earning the twosome Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week.
Dayton comes to Muncie on a two-match win streak after earning a 4-3 victory at Saint Francis and a 7-0 win against Ashland.
After this weekend, the Ball State women's tennis team will play at Youngstown State (Feb. 22) and Michigan State (Feb. 23) in East Lansing, Mich.
