
Women's S&D to Start MAC Competition at Toledo Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program head to the UT Student Recreation Center Saturday, Oct. 25, to open conference dual competition against Toledo. Events this weekend are scheduled to begin at noon.
The women placed first out of 10 teams at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiates to open their 2025-26 season Oct. 11. Ball State claimed eight event wins, and 22 individual podium finishes, led by Payton Kelly and Anna Keen who saw two individual victories each.
Both of Kelly's finishing times in the 50 (22.52) and 100 (49.18) freestyles currently top the Mid-American Conference.
The two women joined Haley Sakbun and freshman Kiley Zoeller to earn first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:32.70) and teamed with Lauren Fecher and freshman Addie Beasley to claim first in the 200 medley relay (1:41.26). Freshmen Reagan Graves and Ella Sears, along with Sakbun and Natalie Marshall took first in the 500 Freestyle relay (4:01.62).
Freshman Aubrey Simmons claimed the first individual event win of her collegiate career, placing first in the 100 butterfly (56.17).
Ball State last saw the Rockets in dual action in their final home meet of the 2023-24 campaign, coming out on top 182-117. The women took the top spot in 13 of 16 total events, with four different Cardinals securing two individual event wins that afternoon.
Toledo enters Saturday with an unblemished start to their season, claiming victories over Illinois State and Eastern Michigan (Oct. 11).

In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have 14 student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events heading into Saturday's competition at home.
