
Rogers and Daugard Finish Top Two at PNC Lenny Lyles Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Ball State track and field's multi-event athletes competed in their first pentathlon of the indoor season in Louisville at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite. Jenelle Rogers and Sophie Daugard ended on top of the leaderboards, securing first and second place. Â
Rogers took first in all but one of the five events, starting with the 60-meter hurdles. She finished the event with a time of 8.63. Daugard finished third, crossing the line with a new best of 8.84. Finishing with ninth with a time of 9.34 was Kenli Nettles. Â
Next up was the high jump. Rogers remained on top, jumping a mark of 1.73 meters. Â
In the shot put, Rogers and Daugard foreshadowed their top placements, taking first and second in the event with marks of 14.52 meters and 12.93 meters respectively. Â
Daugard closed the day getting personal bests in the final two events. She hit a mark of 5.69 meters in the long jump then ended with a new 800-meter time of 2:30.42. Rogers won the long jump with a mark of 6.01 meters. Â
The Cardinals will continue preparing for the indoor Mid-American Conference Championships (Feb. 28-Mar. 1) and will head to Springfield, Ohio next for the Gem City Invite (Feb. 8). Â
