Kelly Earns Pair of Wins for Women's S&D at Akron

AKRON, Ohio – The Ball State women's swimming and diving program claimed two event wins, along with 28 top five finishes, in a 201-81 setback at Akron Friday evening at Ocasek Natatorium.

Junior Payton Kelly claimed both of the Cardinals' event wins, touching the wall first in both the 50 (23.18) and 100 (50.70) freestyles. Kelly also placed second as anchor in the 200 medley relay, joining Anna Keen, Haley Sakbun and Ava Butterfield.

On the 3M board, sophomore Leelah Fettig, freshman Eeva-Liisa Gibson and junior Hannah Justice once again recorded their highest scores of the season. Fetting took second with 276.00, while Gibson placed fifth with 222.98. Justice placed sixth with a score of 214.05.

Fettig and Gibson earned season-high scores on the 1M as well, scoring 261.98 and 227.03.

The women's swimming and diving program return to action when it travels to Terre Haute to take on Indiana State and Butler Feb. 7, at 7 p.m.
