Driscoll & Gregston Top BK Classic Leaderboard After Day 1

YORKTOWN, Ind. - - Ball State women's golf junior Jasmine Driscoll fired a second-round -4 (68) to climb atop the leaderboard after the first two rounds of the 2024 Brittany Kelly Classic at The Players Club at Woodland Trails.

Combined with an opening-round E (72), Driscoll finished the 36-hole day on the 72 par, 6,262-yard course at -4 (140) and holds a one stroke lead heading into the final round. Driscoll's second-round effort included six birdies, including three of her first four holes of the round.

In second place, sophomore teammate JJ Gregston who finished the day at -3 (141), including a second-round effort of -3 (69). It was a career-low round for Gregston, who recorded five birdies in each of her two rounds on the day.

Overall, Driscoll and Gregston are tied for the tournament lead with 10 birdies apiece. Driscoll also leads the field with a -3 (2.50) par 3 average, while Gregston is tied for the event lead with a par 5 average of -4 (4.33).

In a strong individual effort, sophomore Jenna Estravillo is tied for sixth overall, at +1 (145), giving Ball State three of the top 10 players in the tournament. Estravillo shot E (72) in her first round, carding four birdies, while adding three more in a +1 (73) second round.

Moving back to the lineup, junior Sarah Gallagher and sophomore Madelyn Young are tied for 15th overall at +5. Gallagher opened with a career-best first-round score of -2 (70) which included Ball State's first eagle of the season. Young finished her day with a career-low round of +1 (73) in an effort which included a pair of birdies.

Overall, Young is second among the field with 25 of her 36 holes played at par.

As a squad, the Cardinals hold a 17-stroke advantage over the field at +3 (579). Dayton is currently second at +20 (596).
