MUNCIE -- Thirty-five Ball State student-athletes have been named as representatives on the 2024-25 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), with five named as officers on the executive board. Field hockey junior Nadia Briddel has been named as SAAC president for the upcoming school year, with women's golf junior Payton Bennett appointed as vice president. Men's golf junior Collin Nasser is the new treasurer and women's volleyball senior Megan Wielonski is the social media/marketing coordinator. Nasser and junior track athlete Emma Potter will serve as representatives on the Mid-American Conference's Council of Student-Athletes (COSA).
The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to ensure and enhance the student-athlete experience through promoting opportunities within the university, athletics department and outside community, while providing a facet to serve and protect the interests and image of the student-athlete.
New for the 2024-25 academic year, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has named Muncie Mission its official community service partner. Specific ways SAAC will support the Mission include a women's empowerment weekend, Sept. 27-29; a coat drive during the month of October; and the annual Walk-A-Mile fundraiser and walk in February. Last year, SAAC and Ball State Athletics had nearly 200 participants registered in the annual Walk-A-Mile event.
