Rogers Ready for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Ball State track and field's multis athlete Jenelle Rogers will compete in Eugene, Oregon at the NCAA National Championship meet. The 2024 championships, scheduled for June 5 through June 8, will be hosted by the University of Oregon at Hayward Field. Â
This will be Rogers's second year in a row attending the outdoor championships. Last year, she finished fifth in the heptathlon after collecting a total of 6,018 points. She also saw great success at the 2024 indoor championships where she finished runner-up in the pentathlon with 4,430 points. Â
Rogers started the 2024 outdoor season strong after winning the heptathlon at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. She finished the event with 5,825 points and was among the top three in five of the seven events. Â
At the 2024 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Rogers was a force to be reckoned with, finishing with three gold medals, a silver medal, a bronze medal and a fifth-place podium finish. She won the heptathlon with 5,657, over 400 points above second place. Â
The first event of the heptathlon is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 7. Competition will continue through Saturday afternoon and can be streamed on ESPN+. Â
