Timmons & Wynn Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE - - Ball State redshirt junior catcher McKayla Timmons and graduate third baseman Haley Wynn were named to National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Great Lakes Region teams as announced Thursday (May 18).

Timmons earns a nod on the All-Great Lakes Region first team, while Wynn collects third team honors. Both are two-time all-region honorees, with both also earning second team accolades in 2023.

MCKAYLA TIMMONS - NFCA All-Great Lakes Region First Team (Catcher)
Timmons becomes just the ninth player in program history to earn NFCA All-Region First Team accolades, aided by a Ball State single season record 25 home runs which ranks third among all NCAA Division I players. In addition, she became just the ninth Cardinals player to finish the season batting above .400, with her .402 average tying as the seventh-best single season mark in the BSU record book.

Timmons, who also tallied 11 doubles among her 68 total hits, finished the year with the second-best single season slugging percentage in program history at .911. In addition, her 58 RBI, 55 runs scored, and .523 on base percentage all rank fourth on BSU's single season charts. She was also solid on the base paths, stealing a team-high 17 bases in 19 attempts.

As starter in all 58 games this season, Timmons made 48 of those starts at catcher where she successfully threw out 11 of the 37 base runners attempting to steal on her. A First Team All-MAC selection in each of the past two seasons, Timmons was a two-time MAC Player of the Week honoree in 2024.

HALEY WYNN - NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Third Team (Third Base)
Wynn becomes just the sixth player in program history to earn NFCA All-Region Third Team honors after finishing the season ranked second on the squad with a .307 batting average. A starter at third base for all 58 games this season, Wynn led the team with three triples, while ranking second on the squad in runs scored (40) and third in RBI (26).

Along with her three triples, Wynn tallied 11 doubles and seven home runs over the course of the 2024 season to earn a .495 slugging percentage. She was also solid on the bast paths, ranking second on the squad with 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts.

A five-year letterwinner for the Cardinals, Wynn finished her career ranked second in program history with 169 runs scored, while her 26 home runs tied for eighth and her 116 RBI were 14th. A .327 career batter, Wynn's 243 career hits rank fourth on BSU's all-time list.
