Women’s Basketball Places Four on Academic All-District Squad
March 26, 2024 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Four members of the Ball State women's basketball program were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, as announced by the organization today.
Representing the Cardinals were junior Madelyn Bischoff, sophomore Hana Mühl, junior Nyla Hampton and graduate senior Annie Rauch.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
All four players helped Ball State to one of its most successful seasons in program history as the Cardinals set a school record in overall wins (28) and conference victories (16). The Cardinals finished second in the 2024 Mid-American Conference standings and made it to post season play hosting the first game of the inaugural NCAA Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT).
Bischoff, Hampton and Rauch all earned postseason awards. Bischoff earned All-MAC Third Team while Hampton was tabbed the MAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season along with also earning a spot on the All-MAC Defensive Team. Rauch was voted the MAC Sixth Player of the Year.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16 (women) and April 17 (men). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
