February 04, 2024 | Women's Tennis
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (0-3) suffered a 7-0 loss on the road Sunday at Notre Dame (4-1) at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
The Cardinals dropped the first point of the match after falling to the Fighting Irish in doubles play. Ball State dropped 6-1 decisions on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Annika Planinsek and Sydney Hrehor were highly competitive on the top court winning their match 4-3 over Notre Dame's Page Freeman and Carrie Beckan. The match on court one stopped play because the Fighting Irish had won the point.
In singles, Notre Dame took all six courts from Ball State. It wasn't a total loss for the Cardinals, as all six players took at least one or more games in each set from their respective opponents.
The Ball State women's tennis team returns to the court Sunday, Feb. 11 at home when it hosts Oakland University for a 1 pm ET first serve at the Northwest YMCA.
