MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's swimming & diving program opens the championship portion of its 2023-24 season Saturday, when it hosts Toledo in a 2 p.m. dual at the Lewellen Aquatic Center.

In the first of three regular season meets remaining for the entire squad before the MAC Championships (Feb. 28-March 2), the Cardinals will look to remain undefeated both in league action and at home.Â
Â
Ball State owns a 3-0 dual record, including a 2-0 mark against league foes, and is a perfect 2-0 at home. The Cardinals also won the 13-team IUPUI House of Champions Invite (Nov. 16-18) and placed second among 10 teams at the Indiana Intercollegiates (Oct. 21) falling behind only host Purdue.

Toledo enters the meet with a 3-1 dual record, including a 1-1 mark in league play.Â

Saturday's swim at Lewellen, the first meet for the entire squad since the HOC Invite, will feature the following events: 200 Medley Relay, 1000 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 50 Freestyle, 1M Diving, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 500 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 3M Diving, 200 IM, 400 Freestyle Relay

IN THE MAC RANKINGS:
In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have nine student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events heading into the House of Champions invitational.

Leading the way are sophomore Payton Kelly who is first in the Mid-American Conference in the 50 freestyle with her program record time of 22.32 and freshman Kayla Newman who is first in the league in the 1000 freestyle at 10:10.05.
