Wielonski Named MAC West Division Setter of the Week

CLEVELAND - - For the first time this season, and the ninth time in her collegiate career, junior setter Megan Wielonski has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Setter of the Week.

Wielonski earns the honor after dishing out a league-best 12.17 assists per set last week, leading the Ball State offense to a .277 hitting percentage in a two-match sweep of Central Michigan to open league play.

In Thursday's league opener, she tallied 41 assists as the Cardinals hit for a .337 rate of success. She also collected five digs, three kills, two aces and a block assist in the win. She followed with 32 more assists in Friday's sweep, adding eight more digs and another block assist as Ball State hit .220 in the match.

Wielonski and the Ball State women's volleyball team return to the road this weekend for a pair of matches at Eastern Michigan. The teams will play at 6 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday at EMU's George Gervin GameAbove Center.
