Hare Earns Spot at US Amateur in Colorado; Bellar & Khan First Alternates

MUNCIE, Ind. - Redshirt sophomore Griffin Hare (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) has punched his ticket to play at the US Amateur in Parker, Colorado (Aug. 14-20) at the Cherry Hills Country Club.

Hare's teammates sophomore Kash Bellar (Peru, Ind./Peru) and redshirt sophomore Ali Khan (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Academy) will be a first alternates. As first alternates, both Bellar and Khan will have the opportunity to earn spots in the field.

Hare earned his spot after shooting a 68 in round one and a 70 in round two (138), tying for a second place finish at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Baldwin, Mo.

Bellar shot 66-68 at the Chesterton, Indiana qualifier at Sand Creek while Khan went 66-69 in his two rounds in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Kenwood Country Club.

The Ball State men's golf team returns to action Sept. 4-5 at the 2023 GolfWeek Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo., which will be held at the Dalhousie Golf Club.
