Track & Field Places 14 on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND - - A total of 14 members of the Ball State track & field program were named to the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC Team on Wednesday (June 28).

Among the Cardinals honored were four student-athletes who completed the academic year sweep by being named Academic All-MAC in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track & field: Sarah Greer, Sarah Mahnensmith, Jenna Schifferer, and Vivian Van Eck.

Ball State also had eight student-athletes earn the honor for both the indoor and outdoor track & field campaigns: McKenna Cinotte, Charity Griffith, Makensie Kramer, Jenna Oriani, Emma Potter, Jenelle Rogers, Jennah Rogers, and Alexis Thigpen.

In addition, Elana Fullmer and Jessica Velez picked up the award for the outdoor season.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
