Men’s Tennis Suffers Road Loss at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State men's tennis team has been on the road for four-straight matches and today's competition ended in a 6-1 loss at Mid-American Conference leader, Western Michigan.
With the loss, the Cardinals dropped to 10-8 overall and 2-5 in league play while the Broncos improved to 10-8 on the year and 6-1 in MAC action.
The Broncos would take the first of the doubles competition after winning on court three. Danilo Kovacevic and Nathaniel Webster evened doubles play after their 7-6 (7-2) take down over Western Michigan's top doubles tandem Peter Kuszynski and Ferdinand Schlueter.
The deciding doubles point came down to court No. 2 which was in a tiebreak situation. Despite their efforts, Vince Orlando and Eli Herran dropped a 7-6 (7-3) decision to Fynn Lohse and Anton Arzhankin.
In singles action, Western Michigan took five of the six courts from the Cardinals. Herran was the lone winner for Ball State on singles court No. 4 after registering a 5-7, 6-1, 10-3 victory over Arjun Honnappa.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues its five-match road trip when it plays at Northern Illinois Sunday. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
