
Men’s Tennis Loses Hard Fought 4-3 Battle to Big Ten foe Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ball State men's tennis team (2-2) dropped a gritty 4-3 battle to Big Ten foe Michigan State (3-3) Friday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Spartans came out strong in doubles taking courts three and one, respectively for the early 1-0 edge over the Cardinals.
In singles, Michigan State went up 2-0 after Vince Orlando fell in straight sets to Max Sheldon at the No. 2 slot.
Jacks Lancaster put the Cardinals on the board finally with a three-set thriller versus Reed Crocker on court No. 6, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The Spartans went back up 3-1 after earning the victory at the No. 5 position. Ball State's No. 4 singles player, Eli Herran answered for the Cardinals in three frames against Graydon Lair, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
With two courts remaining and the Cardinals just down one point (3-2), the Spartan's would ruin Ball State's potential comeback with a win at No. 3 singles.
Ball State's top player Nathaniel Webster ended the match on high note beating Anthony Pero, 6-4, 0-6, 7-6 (2).
The Ball State men's tennis team continues non-conference action when it returns home at the Northwest YMCA for a 2 pm ET first serve against in-state rival Butler.
