Webster Named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly Scholar Athlete of the Week Award. Nathaniel Webster earned the accolade after an outstanding week for the Cardinals, he also received singles player of week honors from the conference.Â
Webster is not only successful on the court but in the classroom as he holds a 3.868 overall GPA at Ball State.Â
Webster went 2-0 at the No. 1 singles slot this week for the Cardinals. Webster opened last week with a a 7-6, 6-0 victory against Big Ten foe Purdue's top player, Michal Wozniak. Webster's win helped the Cardinals to a 4-3 defeat over Boilermakers Wednesday in West Lafayette.Â
On Friday, the Cardinals returned to Muncie to take on the Xavier Musketeers. That match, Webster came back from dropping the first set to Ryan Cahill of Xavier at No. 1 singles. He managed to fight back to take frames two and three by a score of 6-2. Webster's success helped the Cardinals clinch a 6-1 victory over the Musketeers.
