Women’s Tennis Wins on the Road at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team continues to prove itself this season after earning a 5-2 come-from-behind win at Cleveland State Friday evening at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
With the win, the Cardinals improved to 3-2 on the season while the Vikings fell to 5-3 this spring.
After Ball State dropped all three doubles courts to Cleveland State that didn't stop the Cardinals resilience to come back with a vengeance in singles play.
The Cardinals took five of the six singles matches from the Vikings. Mariya Polishchuk breezed through her opponent Oihane Vicario at the top spot, 6-4, 6-2 as did Annika Planinsek and Elena Malykh who both defeated their respective opponents in straight sets.
A three-set thriller by Jessica Braun versus Sima Heren at the No. 4 singles spot (6-3, 2-6, 6-1) helped the Cardinals seal their victory along with a win from Amy Kaplan on court No. 3.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues its two-match road swing in the state of Ohio when it plays at Youngstown State Saturday at 2 pm ET.
