Women's Basketball Hits the Road to Take on Akron Saturday

The Cardinals look to improve to 11-1 in MAC play and stay atop of the conference standings

Opening Tip:
- The Ball State women's basketball team looks to improve to a 11-1start in Mid-American Conference play for the first time in program history. Right now the Cardinals are tied for the best start with a 10-1 MAC mark which also occured in 2001-02.
- Ball State is looking to extend its win streak to nine when it travels to Akron Saturday for a 2 pm ET tipoff in James A. Rhodes Arena. The longest MAC regular season win streak is eight which happened in 2000-01, 2001-02, 2008-09 and 2022-23.
- Currently, the Cardinals are tied for first place in the Mid-American Conference standings with Bowling Green.
- The Cardinals earned their 20th win of the season Wednesday, Feb. 8 when BSU defeated EMU, 68-50. The win gave 11th-year head coach Brady Sallee his sixth 20 win season at Ball State.
- Since Akron lost to Ball State 89-66 Jan. 25 in Muncie the Zips have lost three and have won one. The Zips beat Buffalo (69-47) and fell to Kent State (55-57), Western Michigan (71-76) and recently on Wednesday to Northern Illinois (63-88).
- Saturday's game against Akron will mark the 47th time in program history the two schools have met with the Cardinals leading the all-time series, 27-19. Ball State has won nine of the last 12 meetings against the Zips. Brady Sallee owns an 9-8 mark against Akron.
- Ball State 11th-year head coach Brady Sallee knows how to win in the month of February. Under Sallee, the Cardinals have a 47-30 (.610) overall record for the shortest month of the year. Sallee's most successful February was in 2019-20 after the Cardinals posted a 7-1 record that year.
Dynamic Duo:
The dynamic duo of Thelma Dis Agustsdottir and Anna Clephane made up for over 69 percent of the Cardinals total 68 point score against the Eagles Wednesday night in Ypsilanti. The duo combined for 47 points and shot 51 percent from the field (17-33).

Nationally the Cardinals rank 14th in scoring offense (79.2), 23rd in 3-pointers per game (8.4), 46th in 3-point field goal attempts (24.3), 12th in field goal percentage (47.0), 18th in assists per game (17.2), 30th in scoring margin (13.3), 14th in assist/turnover ratio (1.26) and 19th in winning percentage (82.6). Individually, Ally Becki is ninth in assist/turnover (2.66). The Cardinals currently sit at No. 7 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll, the second highest of any MAC team.

When the Cardinals score 80+ points this season it results in a victory for Ball State. The Cardinals are 9-0 when the reach the 80 point plateau with wins over Indiana University East (105-51), Butler (84-68), Utah State (80-55), Western Kentucky (82-76), Saint Louis (85-51), Tarleton State (80-77), Chicago State (119-53), Bowling Green (81-73), Miami (92-61), Buffalo (81-59), Akron (89-66) and Kent State (80-71).
