Battle for Bronze Stalk kickoff time set

Cardinals and Huskies set to battle at Scheumann Stadium Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. ET
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Battle for the Bronze Stalk has been set for a 2 p.m. ET kickoff inside Scheumann Stadium, Oct. 1. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+, as well as the Ball State Gainbridge Radio Network and WLBC.
The annual game returns to Muncie following last season's duel in DeKalb and will be the 49th meeting between the two programs in series history.
Ball State and Northern Illinois have played for the Bronze Stalk trophy since 2008. Designed by nationally-recognized sculptor and DeKalb artist Renee Bemis, the trophy depicts several cornstalks in tribute to the prevalence of maize around the respective home states of the rivals.
Each teams holds the advantage on the other's home field with Ball State leads 13-12-1 at Northern Illinois, while the Huskies lead 13-9 in games played in Muncie. The Cardinals at one point won 15 of 16 in the series between 1974-98, which included nine straight victories on the road.
Ball State has won two of the last three matchups with Northern Illinois, including the last game in Muncie in 2020 by score of 31-25.
