Cardinals ink NFL deals

Multiple Ball State players were picked up by various NFL teams
MUNCIE, Ind. – Multiple Ball State players signed deals with NFL teams since the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Christian Albright was signed by the Chicago Bears, while Curtis Blackwell and JT Wahee were picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Las Vegas Raiders signed both Bryce Cosby and Justin Hall.
In addition, Chris Agyemang earned a minicamp tryout with the New York Giants, while Drew Plitt secured minicamp tryouts with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. Jaylin Thomas picked up a minicamp tryout with the New Orleans Saints.
Chris Agyemang - New York Giants (Minicamp Tryout)
Agyemang saw action in 12 games this past season, earning seven starts along the defensive line. The Billerica, Mass. native totaled 14 tackles, including 2.0 tackles-for-loss, and added a pass breakup. After transferring from Sacred Heart prior to the 2020 season, Agyemang racked up 30 tackles, including 4.5 tackles-for-loss, and had five passes defended. He was named Academic All-MAC in both of his years in a Cardinals uniform.
Christian Albright - Chicago Bears
Albright started all 13 games in 2021 and ended his career having started the last 48 games. The Kennesaw, Ga. native totaled 65 tackles, including 6.0 tackles-for-loss, during the last season. Albright concluded his career with 260 tackles, including 33.5 for loss, and had 16.5 sacks to go along with 13 passes defended and nine forced fumbles. He was named an All-MAC player in both 2018 and 2020 and was an Academic All-MAC choice multiple times.
Curtis Blackwell - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Blackwell was a regular starter at right guard during his final season, but also saw action along the offensive line in 51 career games. During the 2021 campaign, the Uniondale, Ind. native anchored an offensive line that blocked for 1,000-yard all-purpose back Carson Steele and Hornung Award finalist Justin Hall. Blackwell was named an All-MAC player in his final three seasons and was an Academic All-MAC choice four times.
Bryce Cosby - Las Vegas Raiders
Cosby started 56 of 57 career games played during his five years with the Cardinals. The Louisville, Ky. native finished 10th on Ball State's all-time tackles list with 392 total tackles, which ranked seventh nationally among active career leaders. Cosby racked up 26 passes defended, 20.5 tackles-for-loss, 10 interceptions and three forced fumbles in his time with the Cardinals. He was a two-time All-MAC performer and was named Academic All-MAC four times.
Justin Hall - Las Vegas Raiders
Hall capped off his career by setting the school records for receptions (318) and yards (3,385) in 54 games played. The Douglasville, Ga. native caught a pass in every single game of his career, tying the NCAA record for most consecutive games with a catch with 54. Hall was named a finalist for the Hornung Award and finished second nationally among active career leaders with 5,359 all-purpose yards. He is believed to be one of the only players in league history to be named All-MAC five times.Â
Drew Plitt - Chicago Bears/Cincinnati Bengals (Minicamp Tryout)
Plitt played in 46 games and served as Ball State's primary signal caller each of the last three seasons. The Loveland, Ohio native finished his career third in career passing yards (9,062) and touchdowns (68) in the school's record book. Plitt completed 62.4 percent of his passes (777-of-1,246) in his career, good for fourth at Ball State. Both of his completions and attempts rank second all-time. Plitt was an All-MAC selection in 2020 and was a four-time Academic All-MAC choice.
Jaylin Thomas - New Orleans Saints (Minicamp Tryout)
Thomas played in 55 games at the center of Ball State's defense over the last five seasons. The Lima, Ohio native finished eighth in the program's record books wiht 402 career tackles, which was sixth nationally among active career leaders at the conclusion of the 2021 season. Thomas had 27.5 tackles-for-loss, including 4.5 sacks, and added 14 passes defended, five interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was a three-time All-MAC performer, including earning second-team honors during his final season.
J.T. Wahee - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Wahee played in 19 games in two seasons after being a graduate transfer from Norfolk State. After solidifying his place in the secondary, he racked up 84 tackles, including 6.5 tackles-for-loss. In addition, Wahee contributed 12 passes defended, three interceptions and forced a fumble during his time in the red and white. Wahee was named an Academic All-MAC selection during both of his seasons in Muncie.
