Women’s Volleyball To Tour Costa Rica May 14-22

MUNCIE, Ind. - - It's a big week for the Ball State women's volleyball program, as it makes final preparations for its second international tour in the last four years.
After an exhilarating trip to Europe in 2018, the Cardinals will visit a different part of the world starting this weekend when it embarks on a nine-day (May 14-22) journey through Costa Rica.
The opportunity will not only allow the group to grow as a team but provide a meaningful and educational experience to the program's student-athlete.
The NCAA allows programs to go on an international tour once every four years. After having not traveled abroad since a 2004 tour of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ball State head coach Kelli Miller Phillips is working hard to ensure this educational experience is available to every four-year letterwinner of the program moving forward.
The program prides itself in working hard to compete at a high level versus both domestic and international competition. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience for the program's student-athletes, and they are excited for this opportunity.

May 14 – Arrive in San José
May 15 – Match with Local Club Team / Bus to La Fortuna
May 16 – Zipline and Waterfall Hike in La Fortuna / Visit Orphanage / Dinner with Local Club Team
May 17 – Chocolate Making, Reforestation and River Swim / Match vs. San Carlos
May 18 – Bus to Manuel Antonio / Stop in Tarcoles to see Crocodiles / Beach Time
May 19 – Beach Time & Surf Lessons / Possible Match
May 20 – Visit Manuel Antonio National Park / Beach Time and Shopping
May 21 – Sightseeing in San Jose Capital / Evening Match with Local Club Team
May 22 – Morning Sightseeing / Depart for Muncie
