April 07, 2022 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team will close its home portion of the schedule this weekend when the Cardinals host Western Michigan on Friday at 2 p.m. ET and Northern Illinois on Sunday at a time that has not yet been determined.
The Cardinals enter the weekend with an 8-8 overall record and a 3-3 conference ledger while the Broncos are currently riding an 11-7 mark for the year and are unblemished in MAC play with a 7-0 record. The Huskies are 10-7 overall and 4-3 in league action.
Ball State fell to Western Michigan in its first meeting on March 11 in Kalamazoo by a score of 6-1 but turned things around that exact same weekend and was able to beat Northern Illinois on March 13 in Rockford, Ill. by a 5-2 decision.
Both matches this weekend are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. If inclement weather occurs, the matches will be moved indoors at the Northwest YMCA. Regardless of weather, Friday's match versus WMU will be a 2 p.m. ET first serve if Sunday's match against NIU is outdoors the start time will more than likely be at 1 p.m. ET.
