April 28, 2022 | Women's Golf
CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its yearly awards for women's golf on Thursday for Coach of the Year, Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, as well as All-MAC First and Second Teams. Liz Kim represented the Ball State women's golf team with an All-MAC Second Team selection.
Kim became the ninth Cardinal to earn a spot on an All-MAC team. She earned her first all-conference honor as a second-team member. Kim has led Ball State on and off the course. On the course, she has produced three top-5 finishes this season. She tied for fourth at the Ball State Cardinal Classic and the Courtney Cole Invitational, and finished tied for fifth at the Rocket Classic. She is also the reigning two-time MAC Sportswoman of the Year after receiving the accolade at the MAC Championship. She's viewed by her peers as a leader and is always sporting a positive attitude. She is always friendly to her competitors as well as spectators. Her work ethic on and off the course is the epitome of what a student-athlete is. In the classroom, she has a cumulative GPA of 3.98 and is pursuing a degree in psychological science.
From the Coach – Head Coach Katherine Mowat
"To be named to an all-conference team is a difficult feat in MAC women's golf. For it to come to Liz at the culmination of her fifth year with us is so fitting. She never stopped working and was always striving to improve. This award puts Liz in the same category as some of the best golfers to play for us including teammate Hadley Moritz, Jenna Hague, and the late Brittany Kelly a hall of famer. It's phenomenal that Liz was recognized by her peers with back-to-back MAC Sportswoman of the Year awards. The reason why her peers respect her so much is because she always gives her best as a person and an athlete and competes fiercely with integrity. I am thrilled for Liz and again so very proud."
