Kovacevic and de Negri Earn Post Season All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Two Ball State men's tennis players have earned all-conference honors. Seniors Danilo Kovacevic and Thibault de Negri were tabbed to the first and second team all-conference teams, respectively.Â

Kovacevic, who also recently chosen to the All-MAC Tournament Team, played at the No. 1 doubles position for Ball State along with competing on the top two courts in singles action. Kovacevic closed out the year on a high note winning his last two regular season MAC matches before registering a semifinal tournament victory last weekend against Toledo in Kalamazoo, Mich. He ended the season with a 4-2 league ledger in doubles and a 5-5 MAC singles mark. Kovacevic also went 7-2 at the No. 2 position in dual play. This marks the second-straight season Kovacevic has earned First Team All-MAC accolades.Â

de Negri played on courts one and two in singles competition this season posting a 6-4 mark at the No. 2 slot. He also played at No. 2 doubles position for the Cardinals. de Negri earned MAC Weekly honors for the week of Feb. 23 in non-conference action after a successful 3-0 week in singles action. de Negri has earned post season All-MAC honors back-to-back seasons as he was named first team all-conference last year. As a freshman, de Negril was voted to the 2018 MAC All-Tournament Team.
