Men’s Tennis Ends Season at MAC Tourney With Loss to Toledo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The third-seeded Ball State men's tennis team fell to the second-seeded Toledo Rockets Saturday afternoon at Sorensen Courts in the semifinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament which was hosted by top-seeded Western Michigan.
To open the match, the Cardinals dropped the doubles point against the Rockets after falling to Toledo on courts one and two. Ball State's duo of Danilo Kovacevic and Chris Adams were in a tightly contested match on the top court against Marko Garlin and Pawit Sornlaksup but fell by a 7-5 decision. Vince Orlando and Parrish Simmons were knotted at 5-5 at the No. 3 slot before their match went unfinished.
In singles, Toledo took first sets on four of the six courts. The Rockets went up 2-0 after earning a straight set decision on court one. Kovacevic put the Cardinals on the board with his 7-5, 6-4 take down versus Adam Kovac at the No. 2 slot but it wasn't enough as the Rockets went on take the match after defeating Ball State at the No. 3 and No. 5 singles positions.
