Men’s Tennis Suffers 6-1 Setback to Toledo

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (8-8. 3-3 MAC) suffered a 6-1 setback to Toledo (12-6, 5-1 MAC) Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
It was a tight doubles competition between the Cardinals and the Rockets. Toledo would take the first doubles competition after earning a 6-0 decision on court two. Last week's Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week Vince Orlando and Parrish Simmons evened the score with their 7-5 victory at the No. 3 position over Toledo's Adam Kovac and Luka Jankovic.
The doubles point came down to the top court which turned out to be a battle but unfortunately Danilo Kovacevic and Chris Adams came up short falling to the Rockets duo of Pawit Sornlaksup and Marko Galic, 7-5.
Toledo took five of the six singles courts from Ball State to seal their fate. T
he lone singles winner for the Cardinals was Thibault de Negri after posting a straight set 6-3, 6-2 win against Kovac on court No. 2.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action at home on Friday, April 8 against Western Michigan at 2 pm ET at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center, weather permitting.
