MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team held on for an 82-76 win over Western Kentucky Friday night to remain undefeated (3-0) at home this season in Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals (5-2) were in the driver's seat from start to finish over the Lady Toppers (1-5). Although, the game was close late in the fourth quarter, Ball State overcame Western Kentucky's attempted come back.

It was an all-around team effort with graduate senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir leading the way with a season-high 22 points. Redshirt senior Anna Clephane wasn't too far behind as she chipped in with an additional 19 points. Rounding out the double-digit scoring was sophomore Ally Becki who ended the night with 17.
Becki and sophomore Madelyn Bischoff hit back-to-back threes for the Cardinals' first six points of the ball game. After that, Ball State was unstoppable offensively. The Cardinals would go on to outpace the Lady Toppers 23-6 in the first quarter for their best offensive and defensive performance of the season.
Although Ball State had a comfortable lead heading into the second stanza, the Lady Toppers began to inch their way back. Unfortunately for Western Kentucky, the saying give an inch and they'll take a mile came true as Ball State dominated the remainder of the first half to take a 39-27 advantage over Western Kentucky at intermission.
After the break, the Lady Toppers slowly started to chip away at the Cardinals' lead and would come to within eight (52-44) with two minutes left to spare in the third period.
Becki quickly answered with one from behind the arc followed by back-to-back layups from Agustsdottir and sophomore Alex Richard to give BSU the 12-point edge (59-47) heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
Western Kentucky kept making Ball State work for its victory in the final stanza. The score was 67-60 with just under five minutes remaining in the ball game. The Cardinals out-toughed the Lady Toppers after diving for loose balls along with some key baskets and made free throws down the stretch that would eventually seal tonight's win for BSU.
The Ball State women's basketball team remains at home next week when it hosts Saint Louis Monday, Dec. 5 for a 6:30 p.m. ET tipoff in Worthen Arena.
