
Men's S&D Third After Two Days At Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio - - Junior Joey Garberick's third-place swim in the 100 breaststroke led a strong Ball State effort on the second day of the Miami Invitational Friday evening.

The program record holder in the 100 breaststroke, Garberick finished the event in 54.62. Not far behind was sophomore Michael Burns who placed 12th overall in 56.80 after posting the seventh-best individual time in program history in the prelims at 56.72.
Garberick started Friday's evening session by swimming the second leg of the second-place 200 medley relay which clocked in at 1:28.60. He was joined by sophomore Reece Manning and seniors Bryce Handshoe and Owen Chaye.

Chaye, freshman Jacob Siewers, senior Landyn Riester and Garberick would end the day with the 10th-best 800 freestyle relay in program history at 6:48.77, to place sixth overall. Earlier in the day, Siewers added the sixth-best 200 freestyle in program history at 1:39.87 in the preliminary round.

After two days at the Nixon Aquatic Center, the Cardinals stand in third among the eight-team field with 450 points. Action in the meet concludes Saturday, with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m.
