Volleyball Extends Win Streak To 10 In Sweep Of Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ball State women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 10 matches with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) sweep of Bowling Green inside the Stroh Center Friday night.
In a battle between the Mid-American Conference's top two teams, the Cardinals improved to 18-6 overall and 10-2 in MAC play, while the Falcons dropped to 14-9 overall and 9-3 in league action.
The win snapped Bowling Green's 14-match winning streak at home in conference games. The last time the Falcons lost to a MAC opponent at home was March 23, 2021 vs. Toledo.
Marie Plitt and Cait Snyder led the attack with 10 kills apiece, with Plitt hitting .526 in the match. Lauren Gilliland added eight kills and five block assists.
Megan Wielonski recorded her 15th double-double of the season, including her eighth in league play, with 34 assists and 13 digs.
Natalie Risi chipped in with 20 digs, marking the second consecutive game the senior has recorded at least 20 digs.
Defensively, Ball State held a decisive 64-52 advantage in digs and limited Bowling to a .115 attack percentage on the evening.
Despite hitting .189 on the match as a whole, the Cardinals asserted their dominance on the attack by hitting .289 in the match's final set.
Ball State returns to action Saturday when it makes the short trip to Miami for a 5 p.m. ET first serve in Oxford, Ohio.
