Men’s Volleyball Sweeps MIVA Weekly Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State graduate senior opposite hitter Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, Greece) and senior outside attacker Nick Martinski (Elk Grove, Ill./Lake Park) have been tabbed as the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) offensive and defensive players of the week.
Mandilaris and Martinski led the Cardinals to a 3-0 sweep last weekend against George Mason to help Ball State extend its winning streak to three. Ball State remains undefeated under first-year Head Coach Donan Cruz.
Mandilaris led the Cardinals with a 16-kill performance on 26 swings for a staggering .538 hitting percentage. He also helped defensively with three block assists.
Martinski also played a huge roll int he Cardinals' success. He led Ball State defensively with a personal best eight block assists while adding a block solo as well Saturday afternoon against the Pioneers.
The No. 15 ranked Ball State men's volleyball team looks to remain undefeated as they host the No. 1 team in the country and reigning 2021 National Champions Hawai'i on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET in Worthen Arena.
