Men’s Tennis Closes Out Three-Day Competition At the ITA Ohio Valley Regional

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Ball State men's tennis team closed out its three-day competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regional Saturday at the University of Tennessee.
Two Ball State duos advanced to the main draw doubles quarterfinal round. Thibault de Negri paired up with teammate Eli Herran earning an 8-5 defeat this morning in the round of 16 before but unfortunately dropping their next match 8-5.
A similar ending happened to Danilo Kovacevic and doubles partner Chris Adams as the duo won their quarterfinal competition 8-5 before falling in the semi's.
In consolation action, Vince Orlando was victorious in his 9 a.m. match winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. He then faced Kentucky's Jonathan Sorbo in the winners' bracket but lost the battle, 3-6, 6-3 (10-6). de Negri also advanced to the consolation round of 16 beating Sam Edgar, 7-5, 7-5 but did not end up playing his final match.
The Ball State men's tennis team will take a break from fall action next weekend before returning to the court on Oct. 15-17 when the Cardinals host its annual Ball State Fall Invite.
